Valeo Japan participates in the Dynamic Map large scale demonstration experiment in the framework of Strategic Innovation Promotion (SIP) Program Automated driving system led by the Cabinet Office of the Government of Japan in collaboration with related ministries and organizations from 2018 fiscal year. It is the first time for Valeo Japan to participate in the Automated Driving project led by Japanese Government.
In the Dynamic Map large scale demonstration experiment is conducted for the validation of map update, the distribution of dynamic information and the linkage, the utilization of dynamic maps linking dynamic information by participants, and to promote international collaborative activities through exchange and discussions with related organizations in Japan and overseas.
By supporting the Dynamic High Definition Map data improvement in Japan, Valeo will collaborate with Japanese government, industry and academia to develop High Definition Map, which is identified as one of the key element for the deployment of automated driving. Valeo Japan has Tsukuba Techno Center in Ibaraki Prefecture, where it develops technologies for Automated Driving and conducts various experiments by using its test vehicles. Having a wide portfolio of sensors, hardware and software and rich expertise, Valeo will contribute to improve and facilitate Japanese Dynamic map solutions.
